The Boulder Atheists normally meet the fourth Sunday of the month at 12:15 p.m., at the Boulder Creek Meeting Room at the main branch of the Boulder Library, Arapahoe and Broadway, Boulder unless indicated otherwise below.

Sunday, September 28th, 12:15 p.m. Regular meeting at the main branch of the Boulder Library in the Boulder Creek Meeting Room. Marvin Straus will give a talk on the choices between discussion and activism.

Boulder Heretics

The Boulder Heretics, under the leadership of Dan Culberson, meets the first "tenth" Tuesday of the month. Their September meeting takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 16th, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Sol Azteca Mexican Restaurant, which is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of 28th and Iris.

Sunday, September 7th, 6:30 p.m., regular group meeting, socializing, and discussion of the 9/28/08, Rally For The Separation Of Church and State. Location TBD.

Sunday, September 28th, 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., rally for the separation of church and state, on the west steps of the state capitol building.

Highlight issues:

The case where the 10th District Court ruled against Colorado's ban on tax money going to pay tuition at colleges that discriminate on the basis of religion.

The "personhood" amendment that defines a fertilized egg as a human being, and would make some forms of birth control, in addition to abortion, murder under the law. On our state ballot for November.

On the national level, the Faith-based Initiatives that give taxpayer money to religious charities, so that they can provide social services instead of government, secular, agencies.

Eternally recurring battles over prayer in school, school vouchers, reproductive freedom, and other issues throughout the nation.

Freethinkers of Colorado Springs

Wednesday, August 27th, 7:00 p.m., regular monthly meeting at 315 East Costilla St., Colorado Springs. The speaker will be Kristine Lang, PhD on Solving Unsolvable Problems With Quantum Computation.

Freethinkers of Northern Colorado

normally meet the third Sunday of the month.

Humanists of Colorado

HOC Meetings are held on the 2nd Sunday evening of each month, starting with a Potluck Supper at 6 pm, followed by a program at 7 pm in the Colvin Commons Community Room, 4101 East Hampden Ave, Denver. This is on the NE corner of Hampden and Colorado Blvd. All HOC members are invited to the board meeting that is held at 4 pm just prior to the potluck. The entrance to the room we use is on the north side of the building, up a few steps. Or the office door is available a little farther around to the west and it has no steps.
Please join us for a social event and look at the purposes of our organization.

Friday, September 12th, speaker P.Z. Myers, Professor of Biology, University of Minnesota, Tivioli Turnhall, noon to 2 p.m., "Sciencer Education, caught in the middle, the war between religion and science."

Monday, October 20th and Wednesday, October 22nd,9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Tavern Space, educational table about Amendment 48, Definition of a Person, and it’s consequences.

Feedback from the above event. Fourteen people showed up, we passed out nearly 1,000 brochures, but with little media attention (one audio-only interview). Overall a real success.
